Symbolic castration

Integration of the Signifier

The authoritarian, power-symbol/signifier "Phallus," signified by the father, symbolically castrates the child. Symbolic castration is not a real, biological type of castration but a symbolic moment in time in which the child realises the insignificance of his or her existence in relation to the fatherly power. Fatherly power does not have to be signified via violence, psychological pressure, or any type of other behaviour that is associated with immoral acts. Phallus is signified via the father's presence in two ways. First, the father is present within the mother's discourse via the mother's respect for her man, or more precisely, the father is worthy of respect and that naturally reflects in the mother's discourse. Father becomes the symbolic reference of the law within the realm of language. Integration within the realm of the signifier, within the realm of language, is based on the unconscious repression of the signifier, and that structural position is called neurosis.

                                                                             Castration anxiety

Castration anxiety is standing in front of the neurotic structure at all times; it is a part of the neurotic structure because of the integration of the phallic authority and its repression. A blockage of prohibition that was repressed, becomes a barrier standing in front of the neurotic, prohibiting neurotics movement towards any kind of phallic signification because any type of phallic signification is submitted to a possibility of castration, which lives within the unconscious, as a memory of the feeling of insignificance which was caused by the fathers "No!". Any type of seeking, towards an achievement which is perceived as a phallic achievement unconsciously and is connected to the phallic signifier, is equal to phallic signification, which is submitted to the possibility of castration, which was the cause of neurosis in the first place. Castration anxiety is like a neurotic infection that constantly nags the mind of the neurotically structured individual because the feeling of threat and insignificance in a case of failing the task is associated with the original prohibition by a fatherly presence, which intersects as a third term into the dual relationship between the mother and the child. And, the possibility of failure is equal to failing to follow your duty towards the ultimate phallic signification, which is a non-lacking and all-powerful phallic signifier, while failure in following your duty would reveal your innate lack, the fact that you haven't managed to align with the non-lacking authority. Every time you travel towards the phallic signification, you are taking a risk of failing the task, every possibility of success comes with the possibility of failure, while the actual original failure was implanted within your psyche as an anchoring point which holds the structure of the psyche intact and repressed within the layer of language. Negativity is already integrated within the structure and the realisation that the only possibility to function within this reality is to realise that the pressure of castration anxiety is a part of the structure and has to be taken as a given. Stepping into subjectivity was made possible via the touch of negativity and that negativity is an integral piece of the structure from then onwards. The original dual enjoyment between the mother and the child was decapitated by the intervention of symbolic rules of language, as a third term, which is represented by the father. Subjectivity, as the game in which we seek happiness/pleasure, is a double negative, because the original enjoyment between the mother and the child, has been lost, and the new, constant enjoyment, that we naturally seek, via the signifier is impossible, it fills the emptiness for a short period and then we go back to the stance within the position of lack, the position which gave us the chance to be speaking beings. Desire comes in as the structural piece of the pie, a linguistic, compensatory mechanism, for its own sake, in order to provide a pathway for its own existence, for more desire.
Further presupposition could be that - without language, we could function within the realm of "needs", but, because we "speak", we desire, we function within the realm which is governed by the signifier, a realm in which none of your desires will be the last one, every desire, is the one, before the last one, a non-satisfiable machine, an alien which possesed human race.
